WW2 Royal Air Force medal ribbon bar
This medal ribbon bar can only be worn by Air Crew in the RAF on operational flights in either Fighter or Bomber Command.
The DFC (Distinguished Flying Cross) could be awarded to Officer's and Warrant Officer's only for acts of valour, courage or devotion to duty.
The DFC ribbon is seen worn on service dress and battle dress uniforms by many RAF pilots who where Battle of Britain veterans. The DFC ribbon can also be seen worn by captured air crew in German POW camps.
The ribbons are on a single bar with a pin on the back for attaching to your uniform.
