WWII USA Small walled tent often called the Officers tent. The foot print measures approximately 9ft x 9ft.
The small walled tent was designed for two junior officers when in the field. When necessary, this tent may also be used as a small storage tent. Rows upon rows would be seen at military camps and these temporary camps were nick named Tent City or Company Streets.
This is a quality reproduction of the American small walled tent as used in World War Two by US troops, the tent cities followed the US Army soldiers across Europe.
The small walled tent includes:
- Canvas tent.
- 1 x 2 piece ridge pole made from redwood.
- 2 x 2 piece upright poles made from redwood.
- 20 x 9" pegs
- 10 x 12" pegs
- Period type guy ropes, these are not nylon.
- Large canvas bag with rope grab handles for easy transport and storage of the canvas tent. The bag does not fit the poles or pegs in, just the canvas tent.
The tent is made from 400g per metre squared green cotton canvas which is waterproofed.
Also shown in the pictures with the additional flysheet allowing a sheltered porch area to the tent.
The pack of the small wall tent in its canvas bag measures: 22 x 27 x 12" (56 x 69x 30cm) they you have the poles and pegs.
So the pack size of the canvas will generally fit into most cars, you just have to see about the poles which the longest section is 56.5" (144cm).
