American WW2 wrist compass used by the US paratroopers in Normandy and beyond in World War Two,

The para wrist compass was originally a US Army Engineers issue item in WW2, but was adopted by the US Airborne Paratroopers as it was ideal to strap onto the wrist, arms, shoulder epaulets on the jump jacket or simply loop it onto webbing suspenders or belts.

The Taylor wrist compass was issued to both paratrooper enlisted men and paratrooper officers, so they could quickly navigate after they had landed behind enemy lines.

This replica of the famous American World War Two wrist compass includes the leather wrist strap.

These are sold for historically purpose and not as a working compass to navigate with, although the needle works they are not guaranteed to be accurate enough to navigate with safely.
