Denim Battle Dress Jacket

Denim battledress was issued to the LDV when they were formed in 1940 together with a wool FS cap, latter on the name was changed by Winston Churchill to the Home Guard as they were now expect to fight and harass the enemy.

It was originally designed as work wear but was soon found popular with soldiers fighting in Italy etc.
