Brown leather belt carrier for K98 bayonet used by the Luftwaffe in WW2.
It is brown leather which is reversed so the rough side is on the outside and it has unpainted metal rivets and white stitching.
On January 25th 1939 an improvement was added to the kar 98k rifle bayonet frog, this improvement was the addition of a retaining strap which would fasten across the handle of the bayonet. Up to the 1939 this strap was only found on the cavalry model.
