RG34 Weapons Cleaning Kit Tin and Contents
The Reinigungsgerät 34 or cleaning device RG34 was officially introduced in the German army on 4th September 1934. It was designed for use in all type of weapons (pistols, rifles, MP and MG's)
Each German soldier carrying a weapon would have a Rg 34 within his equipment usually in his bread bag.
The Rg 34 was primarily used just for cleaning the barrel and not for an overall cleaning of the weapon
A Specialist take down tool for each weapon K98, MP40 and MP44 etc would have been issued and carried in this tin
