1908 webbing Large Pack by Kay Canvas

£49.99 £41.66

1908 webbing large pack

When the 1908 large pack was worn with the 1908 webbing set it was known as "marching order".  The British soldier would keep in here his 1909 Greatcoat, spare socks and underclothes etc. When marching between camps this would be carried on the soldiers back and his small pack would be carried on his belt.

When the soldier went up to the front line this would be in the trench and left behind if they went on an attack or raiding party.

Designed to fit onto the brass buckles on the 1908 shoulder straps.

Also used with this was the 1908 Support straps (not included) that help keep the pack firm on the soldiers back, later in 1916 the helmet was carried on the pack with these straps.
