Battle Dress, Denim and Wool BD's
The standard British Army Uniform worn in the European battlefields in WW2 was the Battledress or more popularly called B.D.'s (BD's). The wool 1937 Battledress or 37 BD's where used throughout the war but were replaced during the war by the wool 1940 pattern Battledress which had exposed plastic buttons instead of the concealed brass buttons used on the earlier 1937 pattern B.D. We also have the Denim Battle dress for sale which was the work BD's but was more comfortable than the wool BDs in warmer conditions.
