Original  WW2 Private Purchase Tommy helmet

This type of helmet was private purchase by a civilain usually maybe serving in WRVS or some other Civil service who could not get a helmet issued and so there were a few companies making helmets to sell direct to Civilians.

They were the same shape but the rest was much simplier 

Bolted on leather chinpstap 

glued on rubber sorbo to make a liner, the sorbo is hard and some will need gluing back to shell
