Willie West's Flight Gloves from the Midway Film
Genuine film prop from the Midway film.
Willie West was a new pilot with VS-6 whose plane crashed on his way to Pearl Harbor.
We have a few of his items from the film.
These are his flight gloves that he wore during filming.
The leather gloves have USN stamped on the back and a sticker on the inside with "15 Willie West".
The film company commissioned a small quantity of USN flight gloves to be made by a top Hollywood costume supplier. Original gloves are rare to find and these are made using top quality leather.
Size marked 10 1/2.
