US WW2 1943 M43 Buckle boots by Combat Serviceable

From £74.99 £62.49

1943 Double Buckle Combat Boots. These where officially called "Boots, Service, Combat".

The US Army introduced the double buckle boot in November 1943 but it did not arrive to front line troops in Europe till after the Normandy invasion.

The M43 double buckle boot replaced the roughout ankle boot, which was worn with the M1938 canvas gaiters. The M43 boots improved design gave better ankle protection and they kept the dirt and weather out better than the shorter ankle boot. The other main advantage and improvement was that you did not have to bother with the cumbersome canvas gaiters as the built in leather cuff with the double buckle meant that you did not wear the canvas gaiters when wearing the M43 double buckle boot.

The M43 buckle boots where in general issue by the winter of 1944/45 and where worn by all branches of service including the Paratroopers, Armoured and Infantry in the Battle of the Bulge. The M43 double buckle boots where usually worn with the M43 combat uniform and can be seen worn with the M1937 wool trousers.

These M1943 buckle boots are made by "Combat Serviceable" (CS) and are fully featured. Unlike some other replicas the soles are glued and stitched, some boots have stitching on the sole which gives the correct look of the original boots but the stitching is just for looks and the stitching does not actually go through the sole and into the mid sole.

The colour is a slighter darker brown than the Sturm/Mil-tec M43 buckle boots.

Features:

  • Rough-out (reverse) leather uppers.
  • Lace up uppers.
  • Leather cuff with double buckle closure.
  • Cuff has a white cotton liner.
  • Black rubber sole which is glued and sewn on.
  • Black rubber heel is nailed and glued on.
  • Soft toe.

These are available in small sizes as they where worn by men and women in WW2.
