101st Airborne PT Tee shirt Camp Toccoa T-shirt.

From £14.99 £12.49

American WW2 pattern 101st Airborne Army PT tee shirt.

In WW2 the US military units all had there own PT (Physical Training) T-shirts. The PT tee was worn for running, training and it can be seen being worn under the M42 Jump jacket.

This one is for the 506th PIR which was part of the 101st Airborne Division. The screaming eagles saw active service from Normandy and all the way through to the end of World War Two.

This design is a popular paratrooper T-shirt and was used by several units in World War Two. The graphic design on the t-shirt of the paratrooper floating down to earth with his open parachute can be seen on several airborne PT t-shirts from the 1940's but the unit wording of the training camp changed.

This PT t-shirt has the text above the parachutist of "U.S. Paratroops" and below the paratrooper the words "Camp Toccoa. GA."

Camp Toccoa is where the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment trained in the USA before being shipped to England. The 506th P.I.R. was part of the famous 101st Airborne Division. This PT t-shirt design can be seen being worn in the TV series "Band of Brothers" where the 101st Airborne paratroopers run up the nearby mountain called "Currahee Mountain".

Currahee was also designed into the 506th's metal DI unit badge, Currahee is a Cherokee word which means "Stand Alone" which is what a lot of paratroopers did after landing behind enemy lines fighting alone until they could regroup.

The P.T. (physical training) tee shirt is white with a blue print, the ink print is the original style of "flock" printing, so the print is slightly raised and has a little bit of texture to it.

Price is for 1 Camp Toccoa PT t-shirt of the 506th PIR 101st Airborne Division.
