US Machete Cover 1968 Dated Original

Original US military machete plastic scabbard.

These are dated 1968 and are one of the styles of covers/scabbards issued in Vietnam.

We have managed to find a few of these scabbards, they are all unissued and include the belt hanger on the back.

The only problem with these plastic scabbards is the way they have been stored the plastic has reshaped or collapsed under weight while in storage for the last 40 years or so. Basically the two side are now touching so it is difficult to push a machete inside, we have managed to fit machetes in by heating the plastic scabbard in warm water to soften the plastic then place a machete inside while it dries you need to slide the machete in and out of the scabbard a few times so it does not get stuck inside.

Price is for a machete scabbard dated 1968 only, it does not include a machete.
