US M42 para jacket pockets. Matched pair
Pair of jacket pockets from a M42 paratroopers jump jacket.
These are made by Kay Canvas and are the same pockets that are sewn onto the M42 jump jacket (reinforced and un-reinforced versions).
These are the two breast pockets (left and right) they have the chrome press studs which have a black outer that are used on the Kay Canvas M42 jump suits. The pockets are sewn onto a piece of M42 jump jacket cloth making sewing the pockets onto your jump suits easier.
In WW2 the US paratroopers sometimes removed pockets from old jump jackets and had them sewn onto their current jump jacket. They would have all sorts of combinations to suit the individual soldiers needs, so you could have a single pocket sewn onto one upper arm or one on each arm and sometime pockets where sewn on the lower back.
