American WW2 HS-38 headset for the US Army WW2 USAAF flying helmets.
The HS-38 headset set is a two part set which consists of the ANB-H-1 receivers, which fit into the rubber ear pieces on the flying helmets, and the PL-354 plug with cable.
The HS-38 headset was introduced in mid 1943 and was used in various flying helmets.
The price includes a set of ANB-H-1 receivers, cable and PL-354 plug. The ANB-H-1 receivers have the same diameter as the earlier R-14 but are thicker (deeper in height).
So that the plugs could be easily identified in WW2 the PL-354 was red whereas the earlier PL-54 were black.
These highly detailed reproduction headsets are made for display or for finishing off the look of your tankers/air force impression, they are not intended to work the cables inside are dummy cables.
The USAAF used the HS-38 receivers in the AN-H-15, AN-H-16, A-10A and A-11 flying helmets. They could also be used in some of the earlier helmets but they require an adapter. They also could be fitted into the British RAF C and D type flying helmets.
The red plug has the correct printing of PL-354 and the ear receivers are molded with the correct stamping on them so they are imprinted with "RECEIVER ANB-H-1 THE ROLA COMPANY INC NEW YORK NY 10200"" and they have the correct red ink over mark on them.
