The helmet steel shell is stamped with the makers intials  (FS 170)  plus the company that rolled the steel which is the number 170

The original oil cloth liner is still in good condition, flexible and not sticky with only a minor hole plus its Ink Stamped on inside with (Brodie Helmet Steel War Office pattern).

The chinstrap is broken and missing.

This is the British model with the chinstrap hangers attached by split pins instead of rivets as used on US WW1 Helmets

The liner has the rubber doughnut ring which was used from 1917 onwards.

Stamped size 7

We do not come across many WW1 helmets that have the soldiers name on the inside, which makes researching a bit easier!
