This colour of paint was called by the Germans during WW2 Gelb braun (Yellow brown) and was an early paint colour which saw service in North Africa and Italy. It was used from 1941 and continued to be used after the fall of Rommel's Africa korp in 1943 often as base colour upto 1943.
