    This badge set is what British Glider Troops would have worn on their Battle Dress clothing when based in UK and on combat operations.

    • British 6th Airborne Division during Operation Overlord invasion of Europe Normandy June 6th 1944 

    This Badge set would have been worn by all soldiers in the 12th Devonshire Regiment on their BD Battle Dress uniform in Operation Overlord the Invasion of Normandy as part of the 6th Airlanding Brigade who landed in Horsa Gliders on the evening of 6th June 1944, A company came down close to the village of Ranville. initially as part of the Armoured Reconnaissance Group under the command of Colonel Parker, It was tasked with clearing the enemy from Herouvillette before returning to Ranville

    He was a member of the 6th Airlanding Brigade which was part of the 6th Airborne Divisions and so wears the Pegasus and Airborne Tab on both upper Arms with his Regimental shoulder titles Devon above these.

    His Glider qualification badge would have been sewn on his lower left sleeve , plus he would have also worn another one on his Denison Smock.
