The Waffen-SS was a military branch of the Nazi Party's SS organisation. Waffen-SS translated from German to English simply means Armed-SS. They were a division of specially trained soldiers whose primary job was to protect people who were highly ranked in the SS and the Nazi Party. Some of these soldiers were relocated to the SS-Totenkopfverbande where their job became guarding and running concentration camps.
