The British 30th light dragoons sabre was a special model carried by Officers of the 30TH LD instead of the standard 1788 cavalry sword. This 30th light dragoons were only in existence for a few years between 1794 and 1796 so this is a very rare sabre to own and one of the few originals is currently held in the National Army Museum London.
This Lantern Armouries Sabre has been handmade by a sword smith using traditional craftsman methods and has all the features of the originals including:

This Lantern Armouries Sabre has been handmade by a sword smith using traditional craftsman methods and has all the features of the originals including:

- Prince of wales Feathers on reverse
- Single steel handle guard
- Checked hardwood grip
- Correct balance of sword
- Blade length: 35 1/2 inches ( 89.5 cms)
- Blade type: Slightly curved, flat back,
- Polished curved steel blade
- Tempered AISI 1065 high carbon steel blade
- Spear point
- Blade has single fuller
- Scabbard: wood covered in leather with steel frame
- two loose hanging rings
- Sabre and scabbard weight 1650 grams
