1859 Sharps Military Carbine replica by Denix

The Denix Replica 1859 Sharps military carbine rifle is produced in full metal and real woodwork.

The legendary 1859 Sharps carbine was used by both the North and South Cavalry in the American war and was used after the war in the wild west on the open American plains.

As this firearm has a mechanism and appearance of before 1870 it can be sold to any persons over the age of 18 years upon receipt of valid ID.

It does not come under the VCR act, so you do not need to be a member of a re-enactment group to purchase this replica. We will contact you for verification of your age and we will require a photo or scan of ID showing your name and age to be emailed to us after placing your order before we can dispatch your order.

This replica has the following features:

  • Movable lever (doubles as the trigger guard) pull the lever down to open the barrel chamber at the breech where the bullet would be loaded.
  • Hammer can be cocked (two positions)
  • Trigger can be fired releasing the hammer.
  • Pop up sight (slider does not move).
  • Ring on the side for the shoulder strap to clip on. Shoulder strap not included.
  • Overall length 101cm

The Sharps carbine was used by cavalry troops in the American Civil war, the Sharps was made in two lengths a short carbine and a longer rifle version. This is the shorter carbine version used by cavalry. 

The Sharps was a single shot carbine, this design could be loaded at the breech rather than at the barrel end so it could be loaded more easily in the saddle than the older designs where you would have to load down the front of the barrel,
