1937 2nd Model webbing entrenching tool carrying pouch.by Kay Canvas
The 2nd model pouch included and additional strap to hold the handle in place as it was found the handle could fall out with the original 37 entrenching tool cover.
It was found that the handle on the entrenching tool would slide out so in the latter part of the war they were modified with an extra strap to stop this.
Sometimes called an Airborne issue, it was issued to all front line soldiers as they could be repaired out of the front line.
