16th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division badge set for the Enlisted Mans service dress uniform.

This is the badges for an Enlisted Man in the 1st Infantry Division in WW2 for the dress uniform. These are suitable for the four pocket Service coat and the later Ike jacket.

This WW2 badge set is for a Sergeant in the 16th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division which was one of the units that landed in Normandy as part of the D-Day landings. When the 1st Infantry Division landed on the Normandy beaches they where already combat soldiers as they had already taken part in Opertaion Torch (North Africa) in November 1942 when they where involved the Kasserine Pass battle they where also involved in fighting in Tunisia in early 1943. In July 1943 they where again in action as part of the invasion of Sicily. 

In 1980 the film "The Big Red One" starring Lee Marvin told the story of the 16th regiment of 1st Infantry Division in WW2.
