The 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment was part of the 101st Airborne Division which jumped into Normandy in 1944.
Each regiment had there own colour of ovals. This is the two tone blue cloth oval of the 502nd PIR, they are worn behind the jump wings on the dress uniforms.
