BEF Infantrymans Dunkirk 1940 Uniform Set

BEF Infantry Soldier at Dunkirk Evacuation

The BEF (British Expeditionary Force) was sent to France in September 1939.

The BEF did not commence hostilities until the invasion of France on the 10th May 1940. The BEF was eventual evacuated in Operation Dyamno  from several ports and beaches including Dunkirk.

This impression of a 1939 soldier is equipped with some unique items as they where replaced before the D-Day landings Mo1 Enfield bayonet with sword bayonet, A MK1 BEF helmet which was painted in a brown finish with a different liner, First model 1937 webbing set which had the shorter Mk1 Ammo pouches, BEF Entrenching tool,  Mk1 water bottle carrier with a Blue enamelled waterbottle , Enfield bayonet frog  BEF gaiters, MKV respirator bag,Gas Brassard and even the 1937 Battledress which was started to be replaced from 1942. 

Webbing belt sizes:

  • Normal up to 34" waist
  • Long 34" to 44" waist
  • X-Long 44" to 54" waist
