The British Army never issued knitted gloves originally but for the troops in the trenches during WW1 many woman back home knitted balaclavas, gloves and vests to keep the soldiers warm at night. Eventually they were issued to soldiers and the same basic design and colour was used throughout WW2.

Many different colours existed from chocolate brown to light fawn depending on the availability, these replica gloves are a light brown/fawn colour.

Made of a wool mix so will keep you warm but should not shrink when washed.
