British Jungle Green Burma Infantrymans Uniform Set

From £266.94 £222.44

1944 Burma Infantrymans uniform set

In 1943 the British army started designing and issuing a new range of jungle green clothing to replace the vat dyed KD uniforms as previous issued to British and commonwealth uniforms fighting in the jungles of Burma and SE Asia where the KD clothing was found to have performed badly in terms of camouflage and durability

The JG (Jungle Green) bush Jacket were based on a same design as the KD airtex 4 pocket bush jacket but instead manufactured in a pre dyed Airtex fabric so it would not fade under the hot and humid climate plus would be breathable enough to survive the harsh conditions of jungle conditions.

Featured full button front with 2 large lower pockets, 2 buttoned chest pockets for carrying essential pieces of small kit, plastic buttons so would not rust The JG Airtex jackets proved very popular among fighting soldiers unlike the JG BD jacket which was to short and rode up the wearers back. the jungle jacket could be worn as a bush shirt with it worn loosely outside or tucked in the waist band as a shirt which ever the soldier choose.
