This is the metal DI badge of the 32nd Armoured Regiment which was part of the US 3rd Armoured Division.

These are the badges that you can see being worn by Elvis on the shoulder epaulets of his Chino shirt in the film GI Blues, he wears one on each shoulder epaulet.

The 32nd Armoured Regiment is the unit that Elvis Presley served in. This badge would have been worn on the Overseas Garrison (side) cap, chino shirt and on the collars of the dress uniform tunic and he would have worn the US 3rd Armoured Division cloth shoulder patch.

Elvis Presley was drafted and served in the HQ Co.1st Medium Tank Battalion, 32d Armored Regiment from 24 March 1958 to 5 March 1960. His Army serial number was US 53310761. He earned a sharpshooter badge (AG634) for the .45 pistol (AG635) and M1 rifle (AG636) and a marksman badge (AG632) for the M2 carbine (AG637). He received a Good Conduct Medal (AG329). He was twenty-three years old when he was drafted as a recruit and age twenty-five when he left.
