Home Guard Haversack with shoulder Strap 1940 dated Original
Original WW2 Home Guard haversack
This is a nice example of a hard to find original Home Guard Haversack, still in nice supple condition, most are very brittle, colour is still good being a yellowish rubberised fabric. there has been a repair to the lid from damage and it looks like it was in the war as the fabric was taken from one of the small side flaps. The internal divider is still intact as is the brass buckle on the front.

This Haversack was specially made and issued only to Home Guard soldiers during WW2 to carry their rations, spare warm clothes etc while on duty. It was carried over the left shoulder to allow the soldier to get to the contents easier.
