Jedburghs Special Forces Wings
The Jedburghs were a special forces unit which comprised of a 3 man team One British soldier, One US soldier and a Local national freedom fighter of the country of operation, including, French, Dutch, Belgium and Polish
The British Jedburghs were drawn from infantry Regiments from England Scotland and Wales, Some of the Jedburghs went in along side the SAS and 4 teams also went in Arhnem and Nijmegen during Operation Market Garden. Between June 1944 and May 1945 the Jedburghs carried out 101 operations in France Belgium and Holland. After Victory in Europe they move to Malaya and Burma where they joined Force 136 and carried out more missions.
The Special forces wings was normally worn on the Right upper sleeve but has been seen sewn above the front left pocket.
