M40 Unterfeldwebel Artillery Shoulder Boards
Unterfeldwebel (UnterFw) Artillery shoulder boards in the field grey with the mid to late war subdued grey rank tresse.

In 1940 the German Army started to use a subdued tresse lace for the rank, which was a grey cotton rather than the metallic silver ones. Although silver lace was still in use at the end of the war. These shoulder boards are made with the subdued tresse lace.
These are worn on the M40, M42, M43 and M44 wool tunics.
