The Model 43 consisted of an explosive-filled sheet-metal can affixed to a solid wooden stick for throwing. With a combined explosive charge and fuse the grenade head could also be dismounted from its handle and used separately as a booby trap. It could also be modified into an anti-personnel fragmentation grenade.
