WW2 German Luftwaffe NCO Schirmmutze visor cap by EREL.

This high quality visor cap is made in Germany by one of the original war time companies. The Luftwaffe NCO visor cap is very similar to the Army visor caps but the Luftwaffe visor cap did have some slight differences like they used a slightly more padding so the sides roll out a little more than the Army visor caps.

The EREL made Luftwaffe NCO Schirmmutze or visor cap is a high quality reproduction which has the following features:

• Luftwaffe blue wool mix.
• Black band on the outside.
• Waffenfarbe (branch of service colour piping) is yellow for Flight personnel and Fallschirmjager, paratroopers.
• Visor is made from Vulkanfiber in a high shine and the edge has the correct wrapped edge covering which is stitched down.
• NCO chinstrap in black.
• Marked on the inside with a double EREL stamping. One in crown and one on the headband.
• Insignia include and fitted on which is a Luftwaffe eagle and swastika and the oakleaf with cockades.
• The insignia is made from Leichtmetall aluminium alloy which is the same as the early and mid war insignia.
• Not all EREL caps are the same, as EREL do not supply the badges on the caps, so it is down to the retailer to add the badges some attach cheap poorly made badges others like ourselves only use high quality reproductions. We believe the best cap deserves the best badges so you may find a cheaper EREL made cap but check the quality of the badges first.

The Robert Lubstein company is better know by its brand EREL. In WW2 the EREL factory was contracted to make hats for the German military and you can still find original war time hats with the EREL mark inside them today. In fact many reference books show original war time hats made by EREL and in these books you can clearly see the EREL brand marks inside them.

Amazingly the EREL company is still making hats in Germany today! so what is better than having a reproduction German hat made by one of the original hat makers in WW2. These EREL caps are made with high quality fabrics just like the war time hats you cant really have any better.

As these hats are made in Germany, under current German laws they are not allowed to sell them with insignia on them. So we have high quality insignia made and we then fix the insignia onto the cap in UK.
