German WW2 Leather Equipment Waist Belt Black by RUM

£26.99 £22.49

German WW2 Leather Equipment Waist Belt Black by R.U.M.

The equipment waist belt is the most important part of the German equipment set, as all the other items like the Y straps, bread bag and the ammunition pouches so it is worth making sure your equipment belt is right.

These belts by Richard Underwood are made Europe using quality leather. The leather is nice and supple so it bends and shapes nicely and the outer colour black is correctly dyed into the leather rather than painted on and the inside is smooth leather finish which has been left un-dyed.

This is the most common leather equipment belt used in WW2 it is sometimes referred to as the first model or early model. It is 4.5cm wide and it has a separate long leather tab sewn on the inside which has multiply holes punched into it, to hold the belt buckle on. Later or second model belts did not have these tab on the inside, they just had the holes punched straight into the leather belt.

The metal hook that is sewn to the opposite end of the belt is painted grey and is the earlier design of hook, later models where simplified.

The belts are sized like the war time belts in cm. The size marked on the belt is the actual length of the belt from the tip to tip. The adjustment strap on the inside with the holes in allows the belt to be made 14cm smaller. So a belt marked as 110 will adjust from 96 to 110 cm in length. When ordering don’t forget to allow for the belt to go over your tunic.

The leather equipment belt was used by all service including the Waffen SS, Army (Heer) and Luftwaffe.
