These Badges would have been worn by a Soldier in the 2nd South Staffordshire Regiment on his BD Battle Dress uniform in Operation Market Garden as part of the 1st Airlanding Brigade who landed in Horsa Gliders in September 1944 they were flown into the landing zone west of Arnhem.
He was a member of the 1st Airlanding Brigade which was part of the 1st Airborne Divisions and so would alsohave the Pegasus and Airborne Tab on both upper Arms with his Regimental shoulder titles South Staffordshire above these.
His Glider qualification badge would have been sewn on his lower left sleeve , plus he would have also worn another one on his Denison Smock.
