US Army 1st Pattern HBT Trousers Green

The 1st pattern HBT trousers were introduced in 1941 by the US Army. These 1st pattern trousers replaced the blue denim uniform and these were the first green HBT trousers issued by the US Army in WW2. 

These are a more classic 1940's looking trouser as they have a high waist, a straight leg and they have no leg pockets.

The first pattern trousers are basically the M1937 wool trousers in HBT fabric. Unlike the later HBT trousers there are no cargo leg pockets.

They have two rear seat pockets and two front slash pockets which are made with heavy white cotton and the inside of the waist band is lined in the same white cotton fabric.

The WW2 First pattern HBT trousers feature:

  • Metal buttons with 13 star design on them.
  • Fly is fastened with 5 metal buttons.
  • Two front pockets.
  • Two rear seat pockets.
  • Belt loops.
  • Herringbone Twill (HBT) fabric.
  • Heavier weight fabric than the normal HBT clothing we sell.
  • Inside leg measures 33.5", these have been made longer than normal as some people like to wear them with the bottoms rolled up, or you can alter the length yourself.
  • White cotton lining on the waist band.
