Introduced for use in Europe during WW2 it was officially called "Jacket, Field, Wool, O.D. Women's ETO" but was popular know as the Ike jacket, due it's style being popular with General Eisenhower.
This short length tunic was worn in Europe by the W.A.C. (Women's Army Corps) and the Army Nurses.
This Women's ETO Ike tunic was introduced as a replacement for the previous longer tunic, this hip length jacket was a more practical design for field use.
This short Ike tunic was worn with the enlisted skirt or the Women's enlisted slacks (trousers). Please note this is a 1940's style so the trousers and skirts were worn high and the short Ike jacket was worn on the waist band of the trousers.
