US M6 Knife by Milpar Original

Original M6 bayonet that has been turned into a knife.
The cross guard is marked "M6" and "Milpar Col". This was original a bayonet for the M14 but at some point the handle has been replaced with the same style of handle but it does not have the cut out for it to slide onto the rifle turning it into a knife instead of a bayonet.
The cross guard still has the ring for the muzzle and the pommel still has the cut in it to slide onto the bayonet mount on the M14 but the replacement handle now stops it from fitting onto an M14 rifle.
Not sure when it was converted it could have been during the Vietnam war, post war or at the factory using surplus parts.
Includes an M8 scabbard made by BM Co, which has had a metal belt hanger added.

Used condition no chips in the blade but it has marks on it from sharpening, cross guard is loose.
