US Army M1910 pickmattock and carrier.
Set includes the two piece field pick or pick mattock and a green canvas carrier.
This is a replica of the standard pick issued to the Infantry by the US Army in WW2 with an original cotton canvas carrier.
In WW2 one pick mattok was issued for every 10 entrenching tools. You either carried an entrenching tool or a pickmattock on your webbing.
This includes the wooden shaft/handle and the metal head. The wood handle simple pushes into the head so it can be assembled and unassembled quickly and packs away for easier carrying.

The wooden handle of the pick is a tight fit in the original carrier so will need to work the handle into the carrier a few times to shape/stretch the canvas or you sand the wood down a little for it to fit better.
