US M1938 Dispatch case Map Case and Insert by Combat Serviceble

The American WW2 map case is officially called the "Case, Canvas, Dispatch, M-1938".

The map case has a large main compartment which is divided into three sections which is to hold various maps. On the outside there is a smaller pocket and slots for pencils, rulers and notebooks etc. The flap covers the main compartment and the front pocket and pen slots when the flap is closed. The flap is secured by two lift the dot type fasteners.

This map case by Combat serviceable includes the clear plastic insert which holds maps and has the grid squares printed on the clear plastic.

For ease of carry there is a shoulder strap with a shoulder pad which clips onto the D rings on the back of the map case.  

The US WW2 replica M38 map case by Combat Serviceable features:

Colour OD#3. The colour is slightly darker than some replicas on the market as some replica are made really light almost sun bleached tan colour.
