US M43 Paratrooper Jump Suit 1943 Pattern by Kay Canvas

After the Normandy landings the US military started issues the US Army an improved combat uniform that was more suited to field use in Europe than the previous issued uniform. They also took the opportunity to standardize uniforms across the different types of units. So the specialist M42 Jump suit worn by the US paratroopers was replaced by the M43 uniform which was also issue to all other Infantry units.

The paratroopers decided to improve the design by having the riggers add leg pockets and leg ties to the M43 trousers. This not only gave the paratroopers the extra carrying capacity that they needed it also gave them a distinctive look from any other US troops.

This uniform pack includes the M43 field jacket by Kay Canvas and the M43 paratrooper trouser (with the leg pockets and leg ties sewn so they are ready to wear).

The other items (like the Airborne garrison cap and buckle boots) in the picture are not included but are available elsewhere on the web site.
