The WAAF Medical Orderly has been posted to an RAF Air base in the Middle East around 1943, It was not until 1944 that a special issue of WAAF Khaki Drill clothing was issued when there was enough WAAF posted overseas, until then they were issued a mix of Men’s and ATS clothing.

    The WAAF Medical Orderly has been posted to an RAF Air base in the Middle East around 1943, It was not until 1944 that a special issue of WAAF Khaki Drill clothing was issued when there was enough WAAF posted overseas, until then they were issued a mix of Men’s and ATS clothing.

    This WAAF wears the standard issue Blue WAAF Peaked cap with Black service shoes, she has for overseas service an ATS Skirt in hard wearing Khaki Drill fabric plus a man’s lightweight Airtex shirt which on the sleeves she has sewn the tropical issue RAF Red Eagles. As a Medical Orderly she wears the winged Caduceus emblems on each collar, a red cross arm band and has a webbing medical bag containing a first aid kit
