Summary

Uniform for a Soldier on the WW1 Gallipoli Offensive.

This set contains some of the kit that you will need to recreate a soldier serving in the Gallipoli

This set is with a 1908 webbing set which could have been worn by a regular and some territorial soldiers.

Many nations took part including the ANZAC’s and  Reigiment like the Dublin fusiliers, Lancashire fusiliers, Royal Welsh, plus many more from nearly every county.

The Battle of Gallipoli  was a campaign of WW1 that took place on the Gallipoli peninsula in the Ottoman Empire between 25 April 1915 and 9 January 1916. The peninsula forms the northern bank of the Dardanelles, a strait that provided a sea route to the Russian Empire, one of the Allied power s during the war.

Britain and France launched a naval attack followed by an amphibious landing on the peninsula, with the aim of capturing the Ottoman capital of Constantinople. The naval attack was repelled and after eight months' fighting, with many casualties on both sides, the land campaign was abandoned.
