WW2 British Everest Frame with canvas haversack
The classic Everest Frame was a pre-war issue frame to carry loads on soldiers backs like extra rations and ammo but became famous when it was adapted as a paratrooper bike frame which is seen on some original D Day pictures.
Post WW2 with lots of Army Surplus some companies used their ingenuity and adapted cheap war surplus stocks like this original Everest frame with a purpose made Canvas haversack complete with white leather fixing straps.
- Metal Frame original black paint with some rust
- natural leather shoulder straps
- 2 natural leather tiedown straps, (1 has snapped but still there)
- Canvas shelf is missing.
- leather is still soft.
- Waist belt has 1 broken rivet.
The canvas bag is about 40 litre capacity and has 2 side pockets and 1 front. all leather tabs to close pouches and top flap have broken.
