Indian Wars Cavalry Colt Holster

£26.99 £22.49

The US Cavalry was issued the Schofield pistol as well the Colt 1873 Army revolver and as the handle was bigger on the Schofield instead of issuing different holsters they redesigned the standard holster so that it would fit either guns.

The redesign was a "cut down" shorter flap on the holster, meaning that you can see the pistol grip more. Not only did the new US pistol holster allow it to fit more revolvers it also made for an easier draw.

It was still designed as a left hand draw as the pistol was still classed as a secondary weapon the sabre being the first weapon so the sabre would be in your right hand.

During the American Civil War the flaps on the pistol holster where sometimes cut back, so you could use also use this a late war ACW (American Civil War) impression as well as a US cavalry on campaign on the American plains during the American Indian Wars.

This holster can also be seen being used by cowboys, miners etc who where ex soldiers in the American wild west.

Indian wars Colt 1873 holster features:

  • Black leather with white stitching.
  • Shorter (cut down) flap than the earlier standard civil war holsters.
  • Belt loop is stitched and riveted and it will fit a belt up to 3.5" wide..
  • Sewn in bottom so that the holster keeps it shape better.

  •  1851 Colt Navy revolver.
  • 1860 Colt Army revolver.
  • Smith and Wesson Schofield revolver.
  • 1848 Colt Dragoon.
