The short straps are used to connect the two medic bags together when using the medic harness (suspenders). The straps clip onto the D rings on the side of the medic bags. They fasteners across the front and back of the body to stop the bags from bouncing around.
Each strap can be adjusted from 33cm to 51cm. This is measured from the ends of the metal clips.
