These are stamped on a genuine period US Military dog tag machine and they are correctly stamped and not embossed like modern tags, so they give you the genuine WW2 look.

In WW2 the US used the same dog tags but the layout of what information was printed on the tags changed a few times. This is the information that was printed on US GI dog tags between March 1944 and April 1946.

  • 1st line: Name of soldier printed in this order; Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial.
  • 2nd line: Army Serial Number, the tetanus shot year, and the blood type.
  • 3rd line was blank.
  • 4th line was blank.
  • 5th line: Religious preference of the soldier (single letter 'C' for Catholic, 'P' for Protestant, 'H' for Hebrew or it was left blank if there was no preference). The letter was place to the far right of the line.

Type your details in box below, we will print them as the above specifications so line 3 and 4 will be blank. So please make sure you have filled out the form correctly. Maximum 15 characters or spaces per line. If you require the information stamped on line 3 and 4 please see the 1941 specification dog tags below.

If you want to know the history and the correct information to put on the US WW2 dog tags click the link below and it will send you to our Dog Tag information page where it will tell you what to put on your tags to make them look correct for your US WW2 impression. It will also tell how to create an Army Serial Number.
