American Civil War black leather holster for very large frame pistols like the Schofield and Colt Dragoon revolver pistols.
Not many holsters fit the likes of the 1848 Colt Dragoon revolver pistols as they are larger than the average pistols. This holster is designed to fit the larger frame revolvers and it will fit the Colt 1848 pattern Dragoon.
The black leather belt holster is an American Civil War pattern and has white stitching and a full flap which fastens direct onto the brass stud on the main body. The body of the holster is slightly shaped for the barrel. The length on the holster is about 1" longer than the barrel length of the Dragoon and Le Mat so there will be space at the end of the holster.
This is made to be worn on the right hand side of the body and was drawn with the left hand which is the correct way of wearing and using holsters during the American Civil War as the pistol was classed as a secondary weapon, the sword was the main weapon so the sword would be in the stronger right hand and the pistol was fired with the left hand.
The belt loop on the back is sewn down and will fit up to a 3" (7.5cm) wide belt.
The American Civil War holster would have been used by both the Rebels and the Northern federal troops and will fit the following revolvers (original or replica pistols like Denix made ones):
Price is for 1 x American Civil War (ACW) holster for large frame pistols.
